Senior Teaching Faculty at Vinieyoga Academy, Chennai


She has been a long-term yoga practitioner, following in the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya, since 1985. As of 2021, she has over two decades of experience in practice and 11 years in teaching yoga (since 2010).

She specializes in alignment, fitness and restorative work for students across ages and abilities. Her areas of expertise include addressing anxiety issues, sleep disorders, stress management, women-focused requirements (across the life cycle – including managing the menstrual cycle and menopause), alignment and managing physiological issues. She enjoys building group yoga sessions for students of all ages, included specialized classes for dancers, for athletes, and other groups. Through one-on-one therapy sessions, she has helped her practitioners address their back pain, cervical problems, migraine, hypertension, and thyroid to name a few specializations. She attributes her success to her belief that most issues of the body and mind can be resolved through Yoga.

She has conducted workshops and webinars on yoga for aspiring students as well as teachers – covering topics including Diabetes Management, Management of PCOS, Weight Management, Stress Management, Women Disorders, and others.

As faculty at Vinieyoga Healing Centre / Vinieyoga Academy, she has taught Yoga Sutras, the History of Yoga, Principles of Asana and Pranayama Practice, and Course Planning, a subject unique to the Krishnamacharya tradition.

Her qualifications include a Diploma in Yoga Teacher Training from Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) Institute (Chennai), a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Yoga Teacher Training from Vinieyoga Healing Foundation (Chennai), a Master’s degree in Yoga Therapy from the Tamil nadu Physical Education and Sports University (Chennai), and a certificate from Yoga International Alliance for having completed 500 hours of master teaching sessions.
